The fact that the Vampire Lord form never gets mentioned about Valerica and Serana, and that Serana never transforms even when it would be kinda needed to have a powerup, like when fighting friggin' Harkon in his Vampire Lord form just gave me the thought that lorewise maybe it's only vampires like Harkon's gimmick to have that limitlessly underwhelming transformation since he didn't got banged to undead-demigodness by the Lord of Domination but instead he earned his power by making a LOOOOOOOT of sacrifices.
It seems like a gameplay mechanic that you can transform in both cases.įor example if you get your vampirism cured after Harkon's death by something mandatory, like becoming a werewolf in the Companion questline there would be no way to get the Vampire Lord ability back again.įrom the two transforming powers the Vampire Lord seems to be made with 'being forgiving' in mind since you can get Vampire Lord state as many times as you want, and get in and out of the form whenever you want, while Beast Form is limited to once per day, and the only way to revert is waiting until it expires.
